D8 Night

In the last episode, our heroes managed to cross the underground river and sneak up on a Leucrotta that has been the source of the screaming in the caverns. In this episode, they take some time to feed the fish before eventually finding themselves face to face with the Psychic Spider that has trapped them in its energy web.

In this season 2 premiere, Keira, Durn, Ahrin, Kalman, and the Grease Wizard are given the full V.I.P. treatment in the city built on the back of the massive dragon turtle: Albagula.

Our heroes take the grand tour, learn a little about Takashi’s games, and then split up to begin their individual adventures in this unique locale.

Our characters begin season 2 in the giant dragon turtle city of Albagula, where they are set to compete in Takeshi's Games. These games pit them in events resembling those from cult classic TV show: Takeshi's Castle (AKA Most Extreme Elimination Challenge) and the winners gain an audience with Emperor Takeshi himself.

Will our heroes triumph and gain the knowledge they need to conquer the spreading blight on the land or will they be forced to make their choices in the darkness? Listen as our heroes try to save the world, one bad decision at a time.

In part 3 of this one-shot, our adventurers encounter a choke point and a water hazard in their quest to escape from beneath the 10,000 Cities. And, for better or worse, they get a little bit more insight into the thing that is hunting them. Only one thing stands between our heroes and the city of Albagula, unfortunately for our heroes, he’s adept at making friends. In this final part of our (semi-stand-alone) between season interlude, we see if Max, Durn, Keira, Ahrin, and the Grease Wizard can make it out of the Painted Valley and into Albagula alive or if they get the devil beaten out of them instead.

In the Painted Caverns, just off the Furry Road where our heroes take refuge from the storm, they discover a potential tour guide. Are our cats hep enough to dig his jive and find the path to the northern leg of the Furry Road or are they fated to wander the tunnels alone? In the last episode, our heroes stumbled into a cave full of piercers that ambushed them and knocked the Sorcerer of the Elements unconscious. In this part we see if he’s down for the count and left for dead or if all three of these strangers figure out a way to get out of this fight alive.

In this episode, the blitz across the Furry Road through the northern section of the Painted Valley continues as a storm from the south gains on our heroes and Max’s unusual wagon. But there are worse things than the flashing lightning and swirling winds ready to burst from below the earth and harry our heroes in part 2 of 4 of this (semi-stand-alone) between-season interlude.

After a special shopping trip at Maximillian’s magic wagon, our heroes hitch a ride out of the poisoned part of the Painted Valley along the infamous Furry Road en route to Albagula. But when the wagon rumbles into their territory, the resident furries don’t take kindly to the intrusion. Will our heroes strike into the soft underbellies of the creatures, or be left in the dust? In this unedited one-shot, Sharpcheek the gnome rogue, the Monster Hunter Firbolg Druid, and the Sorcerer of the Elements find themselves in the caverns beneath the Ten Thousand Cities. They didn’t come here together, but quickly learn that if they want to get out in some form other than the slowly dissolving sludge that runs along the culverts nearby, they are going to have to work together to get out.

In this extra-long season finale, our heroes finally face the remnants of the Cult of the Black Hand that they have been picking off throughout the campaign. But this time they have their leader, “Brass Beak,” to contend with.

Meanwhile, in real life, our players deal with a tornado touching down just a handful of miles from the play session as its accompanying torrential thunderstorm rattles the windows.

After the return of Ahrin and the Grease Wizard, our party regroups, plans, and sets out to track down and take care of the remnants of the Cult of the Black Hand. However, before they can face the cult leader, they've got to navigate some of the inherent dangers of the Painted Valley.

When our heroes bring a cursed stone to a dark place, they must face the shadowy results, but lucky for them, they don't need to do so alone.

Auntie Marlane and our adventurers have a chance for a precarious alliance, but when the true intentions of both sides are revealed, will our adventurers be able to make a gambit for the knowledge they need to cleanse the stone, or are they going to be dead meat?

After our heroes learn of Auntie Marlane and her library of knowledge, they set off to find her. To do so, they must traverse some of their old stomping grounds including a blighted field with a scarecrow constructed of meat and a certain previously looted troll hole. When our adventurers have the chance to make a deal to learn how to cleanse the Stone of Light, will they take caution or will they jump right in, sausage first?

Our adventurers visit the Temple of the Second Land. There, they are busy as beavers as they attempt to engineer a way to retrieve the second corrupted stone.

Next, Keira, Durn, Ahrin, and the Grease Wizard have more to contend with than cold and exhaustion as they climb the cracked and icy steps that ascend into the clouds toward the Temple of the Third Land. Before they can reach their goal, our heroes must first confront the darkness that looms in the shadow of the mountain.

Our adventurers ascend the lower portion of Three Lands Peak to the Temple of the Second Land. However, the road proves to be paved with unusually difficult terrain, leaving them caught between a hop rock and a hard place.

In episode 18, our heroes faced a puzzle involving bells and a vault in a crypt beneath the Temple of the First Land.

After overcoming the obstacles barring their entry into the Temple of the First Land in the last episode, our adventurers now find that corruption lurks at the western foot of Three Lands’ Peak. Our adventurers reunite at the foot of Three Lands Peak and proceed to the Temple of the First Land in search of the Stone of Undying; but when an altercation between Durn and the Grease Wizard threatens to doom the party, they find themselves stuck between a rock and a door face.

After recording episode 2, Ive and Sam (AKA Ahrin and the Grease Wizard) asked for some extra combat practice to get a feel for their characters.

Will was happy to oblige by running the pit-fight scenario that culminates with a match-up against the people’s champ: Scaley!

But this time, a wildcard joins the fray in the way of Will and Aimee’s 7-year old son Isaiah and his Half-Orc Warrior: Feng. Who comes out on top in this no-holds barred quasi-cannon-not-quite-a-rematch rematch? Listen and find out.

Our adventurers' quest to secure the Stone of Undying continues, but the road to the Temple of the First Land proves to be long, fraught with peril, and prone to interdimensional interlude.

After sorting out the intentions of the familiar visitor, Keira, Durn, Ahrin and the Grease Wizard set out on a journey for the Temple of the First Land in search of an artifact that might prove helpful in their battle against the spreading blight. Of course, finding that artifact hinges first on the party’s ability to overcome some difficult obstacles along the way. Not the least of which, perhaps, is the urge for PvP.
